Journaling for book reports.
Your Reader’s Response Journal (RRJ) should show that you are responding to the story in some way.
Do NOT summarize. I want you to think about what you read.
On the first page write the title, number of pages in book, and date you started your book. On the last page, write the date you finished the book. Each page should be divided in half. On the left quote a passage from the text and on the right, include your response.
You should have at least 10 passages that you respond to. Your responses should be at least 10 sentences. Journals must be NEAT.
For extra credit, you may include vocabulary words you did not know. For these, write Vocabulary: word. Sentence from book: “ “ (page). Definition: . Your own sentence. 10 words = 10 extra credit points, if done correctly. Maximum points =10.
